YWCA NWT

The YWCA NWT works to build safe and equitable communities where women, girls, and families can realize their full potential through the provision of housing, food programming, and poverty reduction initiatives. Their mission is to create a safe Northern society for women and families to reach their full potential. Their Community Impact Grant will support the Food Security Program for Vulnerable Northern Families, which will provide low-income clients with options for culturally appropriate, nutritious, and affordable food. The program will provide both food for people in transitional housing and a cooking and education program to share how to make meals, using affordable proteins and nutritious ingredients.
