Vancouver Food Runners

Vancouver Food Runners responds to the unfortunate disconnect between the fact that 58% of all food produced in Canada is wasted or lost each year, while 1 in 5 households in B.C. are food insecure. The Tech-Powered Food Recovery to Increase Equitable Food Access Program rescues food from partner businesses and uses an agile volunteer network to distribute food to smaller distribution sites across the city to ensure ease of access for food insecure residents who may find it difficult to travel due to cost or disability.
