Forests Ontario
Forests Ontario is dedicated to restoring forested and grassland landscapes, sustaining biodiversity for healthy people and a healthy economy. They have planted nearly 42 million trees through programs supporting landowners’ plantings on their properties, as well as community plantings on public and traditional lands. Their Take Root program, supported by the Community Impact Grant, will allow urban residents to acquire low or no-cost native trees and/or shrubs for their homes, and receive education about the importance of a healthy urban tree canopy. Participants also learn how to choose the right tree or plant, and proper planting and care techniques.
