Atlantic Coastal Action Program

Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP) is a community-based organization that restores and sustains watersheds and coasts in Saint John through education, monitoring, and restoration projects that promote sustainable communities. The Community Impact Grant will support the program: Growing Resilience: Mitigating eco-anxiety through 2SLGBTQIA+ youth-led gardening and biodiversity projects. These youth are experiencing eco anxiety and climate grief due to the impacts of climate change. They are also at risk for food insecurity and may feel excluded in volunteer positions/activities. The program will allow 2SLGBTQIA+ youth to engage in climate action by building skills for food sovereignty, reducing their climate anxiety and providing them with access to fresh local foods.
