The WRENCH

The WRENCH creates stronger and healthier communities by removing barriers to youth. They intercept bicycles headed to the landfill and, through mentorships and educational programs, youth refurbish and fix the bikes before they are reinvested to the community. The Abiinoojiuk Abi (Ojibwe for The Children’s Home) program, funded by the Community Impact Grant, provides education to justice-involved youth aged 8 – 19 with tenuous capacity to access the formal education system. They will learn and practice mechanical skills, problem solving and social skills, while building and restoring bikes.
