Toronto, ON– Ecclesiastical Insurance recently launched a two-year corporate partnership with Kids Help Phone to support the Finding Hope: Indigenous Youth Action Plan, created by Indigenous Leaders in the Kids Help Phone Indigenous Youth Advisory Council to respond to the mental health needs of First Nations, Métis and Inuit young people.
“Our partnership with Kids Help Phone aligns completely with Ecclesiastical’s core values and ‘giving back’ culture,” said David Huebel, President of Ecclesiastical Canada. “As a proud member of the Benefact Group we are committed to protecting our customers and giving all available profits to organizations that help people in need, under the auspices of our charitable owner, Benefact Trust. Given the many barriers that Indigenous youth face, we are committed to supporting Kids Help Phone programs that will help expand access to mental health care for Indigenous young people to forge pathways to a safe, bright, and hopeful future.”
“As part of this partnership, Ecclesiastical employees across the country will also volunteer their time to organize Kids Help Phone fundraising events. We are extremely proud of their steadfast commitment to our culture of giving back,” noted Lorna McIntosh, Senior Vice President, People and Culture. “In our ongoing efforts to develop well-rounded and conscientious business leaders, we have even placed young professionals from our Business Associate Program with Kids Help Phone for a one-month placement as part of their rotational learning curriculum.”
This is Ecclesiastical’s second Corporate Partnership with Kids Help Phone. In 2013, Ecclesiastical began a 5-year partnership to help the organization create enhanced web tools and resources for 2SLGBTQ+ youth, as well as to fund in-depth, best-practices training for Kids Help Phone counsellors.
At Ecclesiastical, ‘giving back‘ includes grant programs, sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and employee volunteer initiatives. In each case, the goal is to help charitable organizations create lasting and impactful change in their communities, ensuring that people in need have the resources to thrive.
